Slow down your exercise for the best results!

Slowing down with exercise….

I love exercise! It makes me feel so good, I know it keeps me strong and is increasing my tone and muscle mass… It is important to exercise as we age, for vitality, longevity, bone strength, mobility – it’s critical… It’s important, but it’s NOT the way to lose weight.

You cannot exercise out a bad diet – it simply will NOT happen…

If your eating is not so great, guess what, no amount of exercise will help you lose weight.  If your hormones are not balanced by a professional (aka us!) then you will find it extremely difficult no matter how much exercise you think you need to do.

Exercise is NOT an effective weight loss strategy on it’s own…

It takes a whole lot more than that! We need to work out what is happening with what fuel you are eating, what your hormones are doing, what your lifestyle is like, your sleep, your habits, your mindset, your stress levels…. so so much more than one thing.

The only way to lose weight and keep it off is to know WHAT to eat, WHEN to eat, and getting all of the above that I mentioned tested and sorted out by professionals.

Rest – Sleep and Repairing your bodies is important.

A body that is healthy – will lose weight. A body that is in a calm and healthy state will lose more weight.  So if you are flogging yourself to death with over exercising, then your body will not be in a restorative and healthy state.

If you are already exercising and your body is used to it, then you can 100% continue your exercise regime as long as it’s not too crazy and 5 days of HIIT training!

BUT…. Please know (IF you are overdoing it)  it may impact your weight loss results due to inflammation, fluid retention and the stress exercise places on our body. I believe our body needs to be in a state of calm to release weight.

If you are doing our programme – here is what I suggest….

If you are starting out on a weight loss journey and haven’t exercised for a long time, get the food sorted out first – THEN start adding in movement.

So if you are NOT currently exercising, please do not start until after week 2 of the programme when you can begin light, low impact activities like walking or gentle yoga.

Find an exercise you enjoy so you will maintain it for life! 

I suggest you monitor your weight loss to ensure these activities are not impacting your results.

Once you are at your ideal weight, we highly recommend you continue exercise for the myriad of benefits it provides for the rest of your life!
